What to Expect When you Arrive
What to expect when you arrive in the chemotherapy Unit
Bloodwork may be required before you receive your chemotherapy treatment. One of the nurses will draw your blood and send it to our lab for testing. Once the results are back, the team will make the decision to start your treatment.
Before your treatment, a nurse will ask you to fill out a form about your symptoms and side effects, and they will discuss it with you. They will monitor your weight. Chemotherapy is made specifically for each patient; this will be done by our Pharmacy department once you are cleared to receive treatment.
Your chemotherapy team will review your regime, common side effects, and medication prescribed by your oncologist.
Your chemotherapy will be administered by a registered nurse.
